Stacie Farmer

Lifelong Learner & Passionate Gardener

Stacie has been fascinated by plants for as long as she can remember. As a little girl, she was always asking her mom, “What’s that plant?” That sense of curiosity never faded—it simply grew into a lifelong love of gardening.

In her college years, Stacie became what she likes to call a “nomadic gardener.” She faithfully dug up and replanted a beloved dwarf flowering almond that had been gifted to her every time she moved. Eventually, when apartment living called again, she had to leave it behind at a rental home. Even so, her love of gardening never wavered. Once she bought her first home, she finally planted her first “real” garden, and every garden she’s created since has been a little more beautiful and a little more rewarding than the last.

When Stacie moved to Washington, she became a Master Gardener to better understand the unique opportunities and challenges of gardening in the Pacific Northwest. While she misses the effortless tomato harvests she enjoyed in warmer climates, she loves the incredible diversity of plants that thrive in the South Puget Sound’s mild, generous growing conditions.

These days, Stacie is especially passionate about creating gardens that are both beautiful and welcoming to wildlife by incorporating native plants into the landscape. She loves helping others discover the joy of gardening and believes that sharing practical, local knowledge in a patient, empathetic way is one of the best ways to help gardens—and gardeners—thrive.
